I bought these cute tea towels at a local craft show a few years back. And finally, I figured out an easy, inexpensive way to display them. I like that they aren't totally Christmas, but more winter decor, so they can stay up through the months following the holidays. John was like, "so on Sunday you have to build an igloo?" No, not exactly. But a good idea.

cake
It is the one-year-old's rite of passage; exploring and making a mess of their first birthday cake for the entertainment of friends and family. So here are a few more shots of that moment.

3 today!
I can't believe my little boy turned three today. We celebrated three years since he was born and three years since a mother was born. We kept it as a simple, but no less special celebration. I always like small and intimate. Cupcakes in the morning with his baby sister, then a date with mom to the mall for ice cream, mall rides, candies, a small toy and photos in the photo booth, followed by dinner and cake at Baba and Papa's house. It was a day full of enjoying everything that is Anderson and making him feel extra special.
And it was so nice to slow down...and do just that.

almost one
inquisitive, constantly moving and exploring, always eating, drooling and squealing.
... and those baby teeth that look so big in her eight-tooth, almost one year old grin

winter nesting
teacups, antique quilts, reading and staying in your pjs with messy hair
i think it is a good start to the new year
