Babies' first Easter

twins in their babylegs with an Easter bunny

Since Ewan missed the egg hunt and morning,
each kid held him for a few photos

Anderson said "We're all wearing Daddy shirts!"

Maeva wasn't part of the dressed up photos, beacause she had just been woken up from a nap
and she was very sleepy and grumpy. So I didn't even bother trying at all with her.

By the time we got to my Mom's house, she had stripped the dress off and put jeans on.
"I don't want to be pretty, I want to be cool, like a little boy"
whatever... I was never super girly either.

2 month portraits

So the report from the placenta came back and the twins are identical.  That isn't the best word, because identical makes people assume, no differences at all.  They are monozygotic, one zygote that split into two.  So they have the same DNA.  But, lots of factors affect what genes can be expressed.  Even their placement in the womb and their birth, made for different shaped heads.  That is the main way to tell them apart. It may even out over time, it may not. I don't know. But they have the same eyes, nose and lips, and their fingers and toes are the exact same and their hairlines folllow the same pattern. I can't distinguish between their cries, they have the same voice.

It will be interesting to watch them grow and develop and see all those similarities and differences.  I'm not totally a fan of the word identical, it just doesn't describe these two little individuals that well. And monozygotic sounds a little too scientific. We'll just call them Lochlan and Ewan.

You can see some of the identicalness (i know, probably not actually a word)
