6 months!

We're halfway through the first year, already! It's gone really well. They are such easygoing babies. They sleep really well and lots! And they are starting to interact with eachother, which is so cute. This next stretch, with them becoming mobile will be interesting, I'm sure. We're already thinking about how much fun Christmas will be with them, I know...it's July. But we love the holidays, and John has already booked two weeks off for that...yay!

I can't believe I spent so much time worrying about having them, how it was going to be near impossible to ever enjoy myself again. It has been hectic. But so doable. Would I do twins again? Yes! Pregnancy with twins. Unlikely. The 3 months of sick. 24/7 hangover feeling, the hip and back pain. The pre-term labour, the meetings with doctors about survival stats, the bedrest, the painful sleep, the painful awake, the testing blood sugar 5 times a day, the insulin jabs 4 times a day. In hindsight, yes it was worth it. But at the time, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. Giving birth to twins, I'd totally do that again, it was so surreal. Breastfeeding twins, I seriously think it is easier than bottle feeding. Way less steps. Just feed. No prep, no washing, no warming, no calculating, no getting out of bed in the middle of the night.

Our life has changed, but not nearly as much as it did when we had our first. Going from full freedom to very little was so hard with the first. We just have a little less freedom with these two. We stay home a lot, but it works. We have people at our house instead. And at least once a week, John and I have date night in. We cook a nice dinner after the kids are in bed, we create our own restaurant experience at home, with candles, music, good wine, and sitting on the patio.

Since these are likely our last babies, it is so great to have two as our last (don't quote me on that, ha ha), we both always wanted a big family! There is so much baby to go around, always someone to snuggle. They've fit in so nice, Anderson and Maeva love them so much. And the babies often stagger thair own schedules, so there is lots of one on one time with each baby.

Now, onto the next half of that 1st year!
