amongst all the difficulties and stress of this pregnancy, it is nice to take a step back and celebrate. there is and there will be so much to celebrate.

Halloween

I had really hoped to get this post done before Decmber hit. I even had one in the works on November 29th, but got called into the doctor's office and had to abandon it. Here's a little Trick or Treating, visit to Anderson's school, his orange lunch, reminiscing on his first Halloween, pumpkins & two spidermans.

Halloween party

One of the families from Anderson's class hosted a Halloween party this past weekend. At one point all the kids were doing an activity and Maeva was nowhere to be found, then I found her under the table alone. But then I noticed a big cat, she just wanted to hang out with the cat, so cute. They had so much fun getting all excited for Halloween. And it was nice to put some faces to his new friends and their families.

Pumpkin patch round two

This was a field trip with Best Start, so just Maeva this year. It wasn't exactly an ideal fall day. The wagon ride felt a lot more like a sleigh ride. Maeva liked picking out her own little pumpkin. But she definitely didn't like being all bundled up and kept saying "my face is cold!".

She really doesn't like feeling cold at all. She's only happy when she's "cozy". Cozy fleece pajamas, no dresses, always long sleeves on this girl and usually with sweaters on top. She will only consider dresses if there are jeans underneath. I put out her clothes each night only to find that she has put them back and chosen something else for herself. Her favourite line is, "that dress is yucky!".

Fall

One day we are eating dinner outside (most likely the last of the year) and a few days later...snow on our pumpkins!

I thought it would be practical to have boy/girl twins for all the hand-me-downs.  But boy/boy works out pretty good too.  Of course the first born had so many clothes bought for him, that we should be just fine.  His first Christmas, for example, he had 3 different outfits.  I can imagine the first two on each of the boys.  Not matching (good!), but definitely coordinating.  I've already gone through all the bins in the basement and cleared out all the girl stuff (I kept a few of my favourite things).  We now have 4 big rubbermaid bins that are empty.  It was fun to see all of Anderson's old clothes, I'm excited to pull them out again, since they've been in hiding for the last 4 years.  Getting my nesting done really early.  Even though I'm only 22 weeks, I feel like 8-9 months already!
