John has always wanted to go to Scotland (and I have too), so when my mom offered to take care of the kids for a week, we hurried up and booked a flight before she changed her mind! After an overnight flight we arrived in Edinburgh where we had rented a flat for the week. It was a sunny day, and we did feel super guilty for having to sleep for a few hours. How could we sleep through some sunshine in Scotland, little did we know that we would have that same great weather all week!
Part of that day is a blur, because we were so tired. Our flat had a great view of Arthur's seat, we walked up the Royal Mile, had a pub dinner, then headed to Grassmarket and then walked through a really old cemetary and all around the castle from the streets below. We caught great first views of the Castle perched up on the hill in the evening sunshine.
